Injured Animals vs Water #2

Updated: Aug 24

When it comes to an injured animal, our first instinct might be to offer water. However, this might not always be the best course of action.

Providing water to an animal that appears to be in distress may seem compassionate, but it's not always the immediate priority. Depending on the situation and the type of injury, managing the animal's injuries and ensuring it receives appropriate medical attention precedes hydration.

Contact a wildlife rehabilitation centre, or a veterinarian for guidance on how to proceed.

Remember, while your intention to help is admirable, ensuring the safety and well-being of both yourself and the injured animal should always be the top priority.

You've been cool'd!
